Meetings

General Meetings
General meetings are held at Horizons Church, 6600 Paige Road, #200, The Colony.

What To Expect at Your First Meeting

We would like to make attendance as easy as possible, so we have prepared the following pointers.

Enter The Horizons Church through the south door from the parking lot. When you enter the church, a table will be set up and manned with nursery coordinator or other volunteer to help you sign in for the nursery and direct you to the nursery rooms and meeting room. Look for your child’s name on the posted sheets and escort your child to the designated room. Remember the nursery rooms are not open until 9:15am.  After settling your child in, proceed to the cultural hall, which is located in the center of the building.
There will be a table, marked Sign-in and Pay Here, you will sign the member's or guest book and if you have not yet filled out a membership packet, this would be a good time to do so. Locate your name tag (or make yourself one) and also check for your membership card. It will be with your name tag the month after you join. Pay your nursery donation. Give your name to the treasurer and confirm the number and names of your children attending that day. Pay the appropriate amount ($5 for one child or $8 for two or more children in the same family). Checks are welcome, please make out to TCECPTA. You may also pay for membership dues and any fundraisers if you only want to write one check. Prepay options are available for the nursery. Please check with the treasurer if you are interested.
There will be a center table that holds sign-up sheets, free items, donation and volunteer opportunities. Our organization is run entirely by volunteers and we need you to participate and make a difference. There will be sign-up sheets for dinners for those families expecting a baby, refreshments for the next meeting, and various other activities. Choose where you are willing to pitch in and sign your name, phone number or e-mail address. In most cases, the person in charge, will give you a reminder call or email of your commitment, but be sure to contact them if something changes.
Now that you have settled in, paid, signed in, and signed up, please visit the food/drink table. Help yourself to a drink and snack. Socialize with other members and meet someone new.
Enjoy the general meeting. HAVE FUN!!! WE ARE REALLY GLAD YOU HAVE DECIDED TO JOIN US!
Nursery reservations are required the Friday before each general meeting. Contact the Nursery Coordinator.

Nursery

Contact our Nursery Coordinator  to make reservations for your child(ren). Nursery RSVPs are preferred by the Friday before the general meeting. This ensures that we have the appropriate number of sitters-to-children. Older children have their own program and craft. Infants are allowed in the meeting, however, please respect the others and leave the room if baby gets too distracting. Feel free to ask the Nursery Coordinator any questions regarding the nursery.
Nursery Fee: $5/one child; $8/two or more children (same family).

Nursery Note: If you would like to save time at each meeting and  pre-pay for all of the meetings please feel free to do so at the September meeting. The day care rate is $5 per child or $8 for families with 2 or more children.  (If you decide to prepay and are unable to attend a meeting during the school year, the day care fee will not be refunded.)
TOY DONATION REQUEST: Before you donate your gently used toys to another charitable cause, please think about donating toys to the TCECPTA day care. We are a non-profit organization and can provide a receipt for your donation.
